I hope you all are having a beautiful summer so far enjoying whatever it is that you love to do.
As I continue to expand my mindfulness practice with clients and in my journey, I have become quite passionate about the emotion and feeling of peace.
Another coach I worked with on a retreat this year said, ‘no-one is really at peace’. With all of the chaos and uncertainty in the world, and the individual trauma, that may be the case for most, but those who are doing the work every day may create space to dip their toe into the pool of true peace.
I recently read a book called ‘Letting Go – the pathway to surrender by David Hawkins M.D Ph.D.
Loved it. There is a section on the scale of emotions that corresponds to levels of consciousness. Peace is at the very top of the list just ahead of Joy and then Love. Interesting as Love is often considered the #1 high vibrational emotion. We then have Fear, Shame, and Guilt on the opposite end of the spectrum.
Peace is described as follows: ‘This is experience as perfection, bliss, beyond separateness, and oneness. It is a state of non-duality beyond separateness and beyond intellect, as in the “peace that passeth all understanding”. It is described as Illumination and Enlightenment. It is rare in the human realm.
So perhaps peace is rare, but it is our true nature. I encourage everyone to practice creating awareness of what brings you peace and what takes it away. This does require consistent effort every day. But peace is priceless, and it adds so much beauty to all that you love to do.
