Rewire with Brian Coones

#22 Mariya Garnet – Medicine Woman

Mariya Garnet’s mission is ‘To Be in Service To Life’ and she truly accomplishes this mission. She has helped 1000’s of people by combining plant medicines and sound in all of their manifestations to bring health and inner peace into human experience. Her spiritual journey began at a sacred lake in Siberia and then continued to India, Brazil and eventually Peru where she began her shamanic apprenticeship and later founded Canto Luz in 2008, an off the grid rainforest retreat. Her story is fascinating and I truly enjoyed this conversation.

Barbara Haley is a single mom with two boys aged 6 and 9 who sets steep goals and makes them happen. She owns her own real estate firm serving the greater Miami area. She is an Ironman triathlete and cross-fitter who is currently working on her black belt in Tae Kwon Do. #16 Laura Coones – Fit Over 40

For the very first remote Midlife Rewire Podcast, my Sister Laura joins from LA to discuss being fit over 40. Health and fitness were not something that we are were introduced to growing up. Nor were we particularly athletic – I was 5’ tall and weighed 100lbs when I started high school! We both found solace and confidence in the gym which became a lifelong passion and vessel. We discuss mindset, culture, diet, body movement, competition and how to be at your healthiest best in your 40’s and beyond. Photo from my Dad’s birthday at Hardrock Hotel, Cancun.

#15 3 Ways To Get Hooked On Meditation

Most people have tried some form of meditation but very few have established a daily practice. The benefits of meditation are well documented such as chronic stress reduction, improved mental & emotional health, and self-awareness – the list goes on and is backed by science.
The purpose of this podcast isn’t to explore the definition of meditation but rather help you develop the meditation habit and establish a daily practice. Developing this habit is the point where most people get lost and fall off.

#14 Gary Leblanc – Living at Zero Decibels

Why is there so much dis-ease and anxiety going into the new decade? Gary returns to the podcast to talk about the level of noise we are subjected to and how it has never been greater.
Living at zero decibels is about reducing the noise that distracts us from our purpose and joy. Noise can be categorized as physical noise (health, environment), mental noise (limiting beliefs, fears), emotional noise (not forgiving, judgement) and spiritual noise (tech, loneliness, individualism).
Gary walks us through a theory he has developed into a graph that illustrates how to ‘nudge’ us along and break through the point of inflection in our lives that can often be defined as a midlife crisis.
